It is the basic question.
Yes, of course, and any physicist knows this credit is given.
You'll note that in Einstein's work, he supposes that the relativity
that is *already known to work* in Newtonian mechanics also works in
electrodynamics. If you'll read Newton's work, you'll see that he
acknowledges the work that was *already done* by Galileo.
Einstein acknowledges Newton, Newton acknowledges Galileo.
All's right with the world.

That is true. The foundations of the first two laws of motions were
laid by Galieo.
Even Newton's contemporary Hook , hinted about gravitation and theory
of light .
So all these factors can be discussed , now internet is the medium
