The next pic on that page shows how much is washed away from the
mountains behind and evrything comes down to that sand delta .
You might notice the curent is the tide going up the sound past the
bay taking sedements.
Then when the tide goes out again its 6 kt curent .
The center of the sound is 1200 feet .
This curent maintains the 1200 feet or all the sedements ffrom all the
mountains on the sound would have made it shallow .
This bay is a river mouth and a massive amount of gold from mines back
in the mountains no one even knows of.
That sand flat island in the center of the delta is a rock under the
sand and the aria behind it filled with sand and gold .
That eddy is 250 feet wide.
