Re: Hiring " captains " in Seattle.

Thats 1 captain lady and 2 mates .
About dirt cheep wages ,,because engineers make the money .
You dont nead them around seattle ,,or anywhere you can log "docked "
evry day.
I wasnt allways at the dock myself and I loaded driftwood logs barkless
off the beach in 77 .
Id drop them in the mecanical pulp grinder on deck or plank them with
an old folby on deck myself then tramped a crew to the tolet paper
factory in japan.
1/2 mil for my first load ,,I got 20 % up front
and got my first ship for $ 100,000

Hi T.J., You told me something like:
When underway, you'll need at least 3 men on the tug.
You take helm 12 hours, others take it 6 and 6 and split the
other ***. SOLAS ( Safety Of Life At Sea ) won't let you sail 24 hours
by yourself, 18 hours is the limit.
Oh, so I need to hire at least 2 " captains "... hmm. I wonder what the
going rate is, here in Seattle.
You wrote, " can't smoke a joint... too many people. better have about
20 ! "
20 joints ? You ran out of pot once, as I recall.
