ITER fusion reactor gets final approval (Nov 21)

Fusion researchers can breathe a sigh of relief now that the ink has
dried on an international agreement to build the ITER fusion reactor at
Cadarache in southern France. Representatives of the seven ITER partners
-- China, the European Union, India, Japan, Russia, South Korea and the
US -- gathered in Paris yesterday to give final approval to the often
controversial project that has been 20 years in the planning stages.
Construction will begin next year and the facility should be completed
by 2015 at a cost of euro 5 billion.

I wonder if they would get greater net energy output by burning 5
billion paper euro bills?
