It would be nice if someone came out with a GPS receiver
that could download Wikimapia data and real time data (News, etc.)
that would be played back in audio, text and/or video
as one moved around.
Features should include such things as
the selection of, and the distance and direction to,
the kinds of things and events of interest.
A satellite news subscription service could be set up
to feed live data (news, etc.) to receivers all over the globe,
and of course the military could set up a system
to map and report battlefield conditions,
and alert units of items of affecting them..
For example, you could be driving along
and be alerted to the fact that there was an accident,
traffic problem, fire, interesting event, etc. near you,
and you could be alerted to the places of interest near you
as you walked or drove around.
and you would run over somebody as you grabbed your gizmo to look at it.
