I don't quite understand your claim. What are you thinking of?

Do you mean a perpetual motion machine, or just a simple engine? If
it's
the former, conservation of energy means it won't work. But I'm still
curious about the idea, to see if I can spot the flaw. I'm asking
because
you talked about ending up with "lots of energy".

If it's the latter, if you're referring to boiling ether to create gas
pressure,
why not just use straight gas like air? That will create pressure when
it
expands.

Also, the 2nd law of thermodynamics tells us that the efficiency of
any
heat engine has a maximum equal to 1 - Tc/Th, where Th and Tc are the
temperatures of the hot and cold reservoirs the engine operates
between,
respectively.

If you're thinking of a 100% efficiency engine (also called a
"perpetual
motion machine", but I usually use this term to refer to CoE-violating
devices), this is not possible either.

If you're thinking merely of a high-efficiency engine, which gets
closer
to the theoretical limits than today's engines, that is certainly
possible,
but the plans would still be needed to asses just how efficient it
really is.
