I emailed you last year several times, from September to November,
concerning correct physics and the existence of God or the Supreme Creator,
and now I'd like to discuss your celebrated student, Richard Feynman.
The following Usenet discussion originated from a discussion of the Rev.
Billy Graham, which then took a turn to the late Richard Feynman, and I
posted on June 25 to alt.atheism the following, that includes a revelation
of Jesus Christ on the fate of Richard Feynman. In this email, statements
intended for you are incorporated into the original Usenet post.

Previously, I had only known that Feynman was listed an atheist in
Wikipedia. And that he had inexplicably gainsaid the Hamiltonian
principle of least action in his illuminating 1965 Nobel lecture:
To summarize, when I was done with this, as a physicist I had gained
two things. One, I knew many different ways of formulating classical
electrodynamics, with many different mathematical forms. I got to know
how to express the subject every which way. Second, I had a point of view -
the overall space-time point of view - and a disrespect for the Hamiltonian
method of describing physics.
I would like to interrupt here to make a remark. The fact that
electrodynamics can be written in so many ways - the differential equations
of Maxwell, various minimum principles with fields, minimum principles
without fields, all different kinds of ways, was something I knew, but I
have never understood. It always seems odd to me that the fundamental laws
of physics, when discovered, can appear in so many different forms that are
not apparently identical at first, but, with a little mathematical fiddling
you can show the relationship. An example of that is the Schrodinger
equation and the Heisenberg formulation of quantum mechanics. I don't know
why this is - it remains a mystery, but it was something I learned from
experience. There is always another way to say the same thing that doesn't
look at all like the way you said it before. I don't know what the reason
for this is. I think it is somehow a representation of the simplicity of
nature. A thing like the inverse square law is just right to be represented
by the solution of Poisson's equation, which, therefore, is a very different
way to say the same thing that doesn't look at all like the way you said it
before. I don't know what it means, that nature chooses these curious forms,
but maybe that is a way of defining simplicity. Perhaps a thing is simple if
you can describe it fully in several different ways without immediately
knowing that you are describing the same thing.

I don't think we have a completely satisfactory relativistic
quantum-mechanical model, even one that doesn't agree with nature,
but, at least, agrees with the logic that the sum of probability of all
alternatives has to be 100%. Therefore, I think that the renormalization
theory is simply a way to sweep the difficulties of the divergences of
electrodynamics under the rug. I am, of course, not sure of that.
This completes the story of the development of the space-time view of
quantum electrodynamics. I wonder if anything can be learned from it.
I doubt it. ... The path-integral formulation of quantum mechanics was
useful for guessing at final expressions and at formulating the general
theory of electrodynamics in new ways - although, strictly it was not
absolutely necessary.

We are struck by the very large number of different physical viewpoints and
widely different mathematical formulations that are all equivalent to one
another. The method used here, of reasoning in physical terms, therefore,
appears to be extremely inefficient. On looking back over the work, I can
only feel a kind of regret for the enormous amount of physical reasoning and
mathematical re-expression which ends by merely re-expressing what was
previously known, although in a form which is much more efficient for the
calculation of specific problems. Would it not have been much easier to
simply work entirely in the mathematical framework to elaborate a more
efficient expression? This would certainly seem to be the case, but it must
be remarked that although the problem actually solved was only such a
reformulation, the problem originally tackled was the (possibly still
unsolved) problem of avoidance of the infinities of the usual theory.
Therefore, a new theory was sought, not just a modification of the old.
Although the quest was unsuccessful, we should look at the question of the
value of physical ideas in developing a new theory.
Many different physical ideas can describe the same physical reality. Thus,
classical electrodynamics can be described by a field view, or an action at
a distance view, etc. Originally, Maxwell filled space with idler wheels,
and Faraday with fields lines, but somehow the Maxwell equations themselves
are pristine and independent of the elaboration of words attempting a
physical description. The only true physical description is that describing
the experimental meaning of the quantities in the equation - or better, the
way the equations are to be used in describing experimental observations.
This being the case perhaps the best way to proceed is to try to guess
equations, and disregard physical models or descriptions.

No. Entirely true mathematical science is founded on correct physical models
described by mathematics, which is not reality in itself but a language that
facilitates comprehension of reality, when properly used.
On the other hand, to his undergraduate audience at Caltech, Feynman
once said (just a few years before his Nobel lecture):
When I was in high school, my physics teacher -- whose name was
Mr. Bader -- called me down one day after physics class and said,
'You look bored; I want to tell you something interesting.' Then he told
me something that I found absolutely fascinating, and have, since then,
always found fascinating ... the principle of least action.

In the physics world, mathematically speaking, Economy of Heaven is
known as the principle of least/stationary action, which is the mathematical
principle of optimization that accurately describes *ALL* operations of
Nature, saith the Lord. (This revelation received on June 11, 2007.)
Yea, efficiency is one of the defining characteristics of Nature, God's
creation.
Mr. Wheeler, I think you already know that William Rowan Hamilton often
meditated on metaphysics, or what I would call spiritual things, while
working out his mathematics, such as the quaternions, his reformulation
of the Euler-Lagrangian dynamics (least action), and no doubt in many
other scientific matters. James Clerk Maxwell was arguably even more
spiritually minded and totally disagreed with the renascent theory of
Evolution, though he did not loudly voice his opposition. I declare, as
Apostle of the One Mighty and Strong, who is Art Bulla, that theology
indeed circumscribes science. And that, it is by the inspiration of the
Almighty, expressly given or otherwise, that great developments in
mathematics, science and engineering come to pass. Let us all give
all credit and honor and glory unto the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and
of Jacob, yea even the Supreme Creator and Being, whom the Prophet
and Apostle Art Bulla has beheld (on Dec. 29, 1969) in the manner of the
Ancients, and Art Bulla's testimony of the Father and the Son and the third
heaven I bear witness by the Holy Ghost given me.
Going back more directly to that portion of Feynman's 1965 Nobel lecture
quoted above: Some equations, like those of the inverse square 'law' and of
quantum mechanics, are examples of successful 'guessing' (though not
a haphazard one) due to agreements with empirical observations, but if they
fail to provide the underlying physical reasons, such theories remain less
than satisfactory. The complete Maxwell electrodynamics (based on the
correct assumption that aether does exist -- all 20 equations), disregarded
by most physicists now, is the most successful and satisfactory physical
theory that has been conceived in the mind and heart of man (and I doubt
that is complete) thus far. Feynman's inexplicable contradictions
demonstrated in the above quote, to me, are a manifestation of a mind
that has spiritually erred, as brilliant as he was:

planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme
Creator.

So, I had previously known that Feynman was at times emotionally opposed
or at best ambivalent to the Principle of Economy of Heaven, even though
his fame is based largely upon a successful mathematical application of it.

The Pleasure of Finding Things Out
Richard Feynman was one of the most brilliant theoretical physicists and
original thinkers of the 20th century. He rebuilt the theory of quantum
electrodynamics, and it was for this work that he won the Nobel Prize in
1965.
In 1981, he gave Horizon a candid interview, talking about many things close
to his heart.

Richard Feynman:
You see, one thing is, I can live with doubt and uncertainty and not
knowing. I think it's much more interesting to live not knowing than to have
answers which might be wrong. I have approximate answers and possible
beliefs and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I'm
not absolutely sure of anything and there are many things I don't know
anything about, such as whether it means anything to ask why we're here, and
what the question might mean.
I might think about it a little bit and if I can't figure it out, then I go
on to something else, but I don't have to know an answer, I don't feel
frightened by not knowing things, by being lost in a mysterious Universe
without having any purpose, which is the way it really is so far as I can
tell. It doesn't frighten me.
....
The original reason to start the project, which was that the Germans were a
danger, started me off on a process of action which was to try to develop
this first system at Princeton and then at Los Alamos, to try to make the
bomb work. All kinds of attempts were made to redesign it to make it a worse
bomb and so on. It was a project on which we all worked very, very hard, all
co-operating together. And with any project like that you continue to work
trying to get success, having decided to do it.
But what I did - immorally I would say - was not to remember the reason that
I said I was doing it, so that when the reason changed, because Germany was
defeated, not the singlest thought came to my mind at all about that, that
that meant now that I have to reconsider why I am continuing to do this. I
simply didn't think, okay?
....
The only reaction that I remember - perhaps I was blinded by my own
reaction - was a very considerable elation and excitement, and there were
parties and people got drunk and it would make a tremendously interesting
contrast, what was going on in Los Alamos at the same time as what was going
on in Hiroshima. I was involved with this happy thing and also drinking and
drunk and playing drums sitting on the hood of, the bonnet of, a Jeep and
playing drums with excitement running all over Los Alamos at the same time
as people were dying and struggling in Hiroshima.
I had a very strong reaction after the war of a peculiar nature - it may be
from just the bomb itself and it may be for some other psychological
reasons, I'd just lost my wife or something. But I remember being in New
York with my mother in a restaurant, immediately after, and thinking about
New York, and I knew how big the bomb in Hiroshima was, how big an area it
covered and so on, and I realised from where we were - I don't know, 59th
Street - that to drop one of the 34th Street, it would spread all the way
out here and all these people would be killed and all the things would be
killed.
And there wasn't only one bomb available, but it was easy to continue to
make them, and therefore that things were sort of doomed because already it
appeared to me - very early, earlier than to others who were more
optimistic - that international relations and the way people were behaving
were no different than they had ever been before and that it was just going
to go on the same way as any other thing and I was sure that it was going,
therefore, to be used very soon.
So I felt uncomfortable, and thought, really believed, that it was silly: I
would see people building a bridge and I would say "they don't understand."
I really believed that it was senseless to make anything because it would
all be destroyed very soon anyway, but they didn't understand that and I had
this very strange view of any construction I would see, I would always think
how foolish they are to try to make something. So I was really in a kind of
depressive condition.

Clearly the Lord God of Israel is no respecter of persons, desiring that ye
atheists be warned of your grievous offence against Him. Be ye sober and
repent.
Personally, I am speaking of the natural man in me, I feel Feynman
was much less hypocritical than Newton who denied the Godhood of Jesus
Christ, and besides the former was courageous in his investigation of the
1986 Challenger disaster and was a gracious physics teacher to both graduate
students and undergraduates. Now I can't help but assume that Isaac Newton
really must be a son of perdition, and even to the natural man in me this
makes sense if true, but in the case of Richard Feynman I am sorry, because
for some reason his narcissistic streaks and self-promotions don't offend
me. I'd say his depth of thought manifested in his presentations many times
and his peculiar charisma have something to do with that. He was also
against psychiatry, so I felt there were some positives, but the will of
Christ must be done.

But James Clerk Maxwell had in the previous century already developed an
experimentally validated theory of electrodynamics that is based on the
reality of aether, for the world to savor and enjoy. I am happy for Dirac
that he was at least honest to this extent.
