Electrons occupy only certain shells surrounding the atomic nuleus. It
is said that the electromagnetic binding energy is why they do. But
how does electromagnetism explain the shells?
It is obvious that it doesn't. We need more than we know to explain
electron shells as they are. It seems as if they are a structure to
space itself.
What do you think?
Burt Schwarzkauf
It's a quantum mechanical thing. The shells and sub-shells are
related to solutions of Schrodinger's wave equation for a central
Coulombic potential energy.
-------------
an you bring experimental evidence that
a heavy Atom like say Lead
has 82 eelctrons around it
no one more no oneless ??
i mean experimental evidence
not extrapolations of logic
nore assuptions
2
can you solve it accoding QM
withjthe Schroedinger equation ??!!
if yess please show the above solusion
(you can recrute any computer you like )
TIA

No oneless. No onemore. Withj or withjout the Schroedinger equation.
