Quantum Gravity 160.3: Recent Applications of Sine-Gordon Solitons

From Osher Doctorow

Italy and Brazil have been contributing considerably to recent
applications of Sine-Gordon Solitons.

See Mariono Cadoni and Roberto de Leo and Giuseppe Gaeta, respectively
U. di Caglari, Cittadella U., U. di Milano, Italy, "Sine-Gordon
solitons, auxiliary fields, and singular limit of a double pendulum
chain," arXiv: 0706.3173 v1 [math-phys] 21 Jan 2007, 16 pages. This
is especially similar to my Probable Influence/Causation (PI) approach
of the last few Sections because it involves:

1) Elasticity
2) Two systems or (auxiliary) fields, of which one is dominant and the
other "dependent"
3) Deep physics, in this case SUSY field theories where the model
enables off-shell closure of algebras
4) Interdisciplinary results, in this case both DNA and physics.

The other interesting paper is Harold Blas, U. Federal de Mato Grosso
Brazil (I think where the Amazon River is), hep-th/0702197 v1 25 Feb
2007, "Exotic baryons in two dimensional quantum chromodynamics and
the generalized Sine-Gordon solitons," 31 pages, solitons and kinks of
SU(3) generalized Sine-Gordon model describing the baryonic spectrum
of two-dimensional QCD with potentials resembling the potential of
effective Lagrangian proposed by Witten for low-energy behavior of 4-
dimensional QCD.

Several hundred papers can be found on arXiv under the keyword "Sine-
Gordon".
