Maybe my last post to sci.physics 8^(
Should be on a plane to Korea tonight and if it comes down hard and I become fishfood I would like to both say goodby to sci.physics and put down some unfinished thoughts.

The books have been closed for too many years and thoughts have been elsewhere, the question remains unanswered (maybe unanswerable).
"One might still like to ask: "How does it work? What is the machinery behind the law?" No one has found any machinery behind the law. No one can "explain" any more than we have just "explained". No one will give you any deeper representation of the situation. We have no ideas about a more basic mechanism from which these results can be deduced. ... This I believe was Feynman's challenge to us, come up with a mental picture of spacetime and matter that implies the present mathematical physics which very correctly describes nature ( well, they are still working on quantum gravity)and in doing so figure out "How it does work".
Things to think about ( please post what you consider clues to solving this puzzle).

Starting with this we get the quantum mechanics of a single particle, very good.

But how do you extend this idea to a cluster of particles such as a large molecule which exhibets interference? Many "internal clocks" which somehow act together for purposes of interference of a clock with frequency related to the total energy. Is this also somehow related to how total angular momentum is quantized? Is this a property of space or of matter.
