"Slightly higher frequency" than what frequency?
What kind of oscillator?
What kind of acceleration compensation does the oscillator use?
What is the delta acceleration acting on the oscillator at 8000 km
and at the reference altitude?
What factors in the 8000 km and the reference altitude
affect the oscillator and how much?
Sammy, if you can't or won't answer the questions--
you just confirm you are a child abuser and a wife beater
that hasn't the foggiest idea about orbiting oscillators.
Sammy, I would never hire you as a system engineer.
Stick with your Barber Shop Queertet,
and your pretend-to-be EDU web site.
If you want the answer to your question,
and all other questions,
do a Google search on "oscillator steering".
Potter originally posted "...that an oscillator will oscillate at
a slightly higher frequency in orbit, than they would on the surface
of the Earth..."
I asked Potter, "Will an oscillator oscillate at a slightly higher
frequency at an orbital radius of 8000 km, Potter? If so, by how much?
If not, why?
As predicted, Potter, will bluster and not answer the question!- Hide

Here is a Wormley style question for Wormley.
"When did you quit beating your wife Wormley?"
Learn how to ask a question
that leaves no wiggle room for you,
and I might answer it Wormley.
Frankly, I only answer the questions of
people seeking useful information.
I do not answer the questions of
people playing games, sharp shooting,
equivocating, and trying to be cute.
Here is a question that I have asked Sam,
and all of the people who claim that
General Relativity is essential to the
GPS system, and so far they have just chanted
GTR mantra,. and avoided the question.
"Why is it desirable, but NOT essential,
to have the oscillators in the satellites
set to have the same frequencies in orbit,
as the master oscillators on the ground.
I have seen General Relativity Charlatans
on the taxpayer dole make all kinds of
phony claims about the usefulness of GTR,
and have seem them use many hacks of
Classical Physics to adjust data from the
GPS System to fit GTR, but I have never seen them
address real world issues like closed loop systems,
the correlators used to recognize and decode the
GPS signals, why it is desirable to have all the
system frequencies as close together as possible,
reflections, the ionosphere, etc.
Frankly, they don't even seem to comprehend the difference between
THE master clock, slave clocks, THE master oscillator that
drives the master clock, what the master clock is referenced to,
the oscillators that drive the clocks slaved to the master clock,
and things like what time periods, time intervals, time, space,
"c", "g", "G", permittivity and permeability really are.
It seems to me that if the General Relativity Gurus
possessed such powerful, esoteric knowledge,
that they would get off the taxpayer dole,
quit hyping their secret, powerful tool,
and make billions of dollars in the free market.
It doesn't take a system engineer to comprehend that
General Relativity is a Tower of Babel
that wastes time, money and minds on
such pursuits as time travel, worm holes,
warping through space, rubber clocks and times, etc.
Can you imagine the benefits to society
if some of the billions of the taxpayer's dollars
spent trying to rationalize General Relativity
was spent on DNA R&D???
Face the facts.
General Relativity is a religion.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
