Of course, General Relativity is also a good way
to con taxpayers into funding billion dollar projects,

IF Potter refers to $10+ billion for GPS--Its purpose is
navigation, not general relativity... that part was already
known. GTR has directly contributed to a $30B+ GPS industry,
benefiting people all over the world. Aviation, shipping,
asset management, survey, mining, agriculture, time
dissemination, communications networks... and on and on!

Bluster on, Potter, bluster some more! Froth at the mouth! Whatever!

I suggest that General Relativity would be better served
if Sammy would assert GTR role in the
success the hula hoop and the pet rock,

as GTR contributed to their success
about the same amount as it did to the GPS system.

Potter should realize that global navigation satellite system
are sensitive to the relativistic effects on time. The relativistic
effects on rock and hoops is identical, but not critical to their
uses.

It is interesting to see that Sam Wormley
thinks that the General Relativity affects
the success of products in the marketplace
just as he thinks that it was essential to the GPS system.

I, for one, would like to know how General Relativity
affects the marketplace, so I can make fine adjustments
to my market analysis programs.

I will be looking forward to receiving this information,
hopefully by email, as I wouldn't want to see too many
people have access to this powerful, esoteric knowledge,
as they would use the data, and negate any advantage
that I, and the General Relativity Guru's, have
over the ignorant folks who don't know how to use
General Relativity in a real world, practical way.
