Ok, so now you have the picture.

Should Louie and the boys, get those big houses, and people in the
middle class, sell down to smaller cheaper more affordable
accommodation?

Well Louie is going to rent them out at what the market will bear.
Current rates and a less because there will be a glut of rental homes.
So should then the home owner swing a deal, with a long term lease on
their home, to rent it themselves, from their creditor, with an option
to buy it back?
You see there are some creative fixes you can do. If the banks want to
do that.
Or, you let it all collapse evenly across the board.
But then the lending institutions will have to bite that bullet.
But then what do they do except foreclose and force a sale?
So then rich people, not Louie, pick those up.
The really really rich people who have bottomless borrowing power.
Feudalism.
Socialistic bail outs of the banks by the tax payer? Share the losses?
Increase service charges?
Debt relief?
Increase wages?
You see the thing is so complex, it is almost a living ecosystem, and
if you start to try to do something here, you affect it there.
You can imagine the amount of effort to plug all the holes in the dike
as the thing slowly deflates.
So you can work through that, or you can let it fall, and then
rebuild.
Only it won't be falling like in a mudslide or natural disaster, its
just on paper.
So then you need the government and police to be watchful and to see
that the paper is kept honest if that happens, because the market and
the way things work is fair according to supply and demand. So if
people are kept honest, it usually only hurts those who gambled and
lost.
