La Salle gravity

Hi! I Think about the sixteenth century a fellow called La Salle in
France postulated a "shadow' theory of gravity. I found once his
biography on the Web, but I have lost it and cannot find it again.
Does anyone know where I can find it, or some reference about him?
Thanks.

Peter
