Magnetic Fields at general points in space

I've noticed in my e and m textbook that each problem in finding the
magnetic or any fireld really, focuses only on a point along an axis
or some othere point that acieves maximum symmetry for the
calculation.
I was wondering though if someone could point in the correct direction
to show me a general way of performing coordinate axis tranformations
in such a way that I can find a field at some generic point in space.
any help is appreciated. If anyon is familiar with Good's classical
electromagnetism, i have even just ovelooked in the book.
thanks
.
