Each neuron acts rather like a summing amplifer, having anywhere from
a few, to thousands of inputs, with each being either additive or
subtractive. High-level functionality is accomplished by the large
number of, and complex interconnections between neurons; involving fan-
outs from 1 up to the thousands, and various levels of feedback and
feedforward.
