comparative efficiency test

hi everybody. From your experience or knowledge ¿how would you
prepare a comparative efficiency test between two similar DC motor?
(I mean, suppose you invent a new kind of electric motor and you need
to know and probe if it´s better than existing others, ¿how would
you do that?)
