: OK,
: heres a question i want answered...
:
: If you are on a spaceship traveling at the speed of light,
: and you turn on the "headlights",do they go anywhere ??
The beams reach out as you would expect them too.
:
: To me, speed is relative.
Correct.
: How do you measure it ?
First you need a spaceship with headlights.
This might do:
http://www.dlr.de/iss/en/Portaldata/19/Resources/images/ISS_0805.jpg
and then you need this:

Because this has been in place since 1969

You can use the GPS to know where you are and an atomic
clock to time how long it takes a pulse to reach the Moon
and back... Simple.
Speed of ISS 17,500 mph.
: If you on Planet A (earth), and a spaceship goes by at 5000 mph,
: but Planet B is coming toward Planet A at 5000mph then is it really
: moving ?
http://www.androcles01.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/PoR/PoR.htm
:
: If you live on Planet B then its not, it has a speed of 0 MPH
:
: So , unless there is a single point in the universe that can be used
: as a reference,
: or "MIDDLE" , then speed is relative.
:
: Now, once that question is answered, i have some other ideas to
: ponder.
: I think there was no big-bang, and no center of the universe.
:
: The universe is static and has always been here.
: This is called the "steady state theory" right ?
:
Yep.
: The reason this was discarded is that they found that many stars and
: even galaxys wre moving away from us, and that the universe was
: expanding.
No they didn't.
: BUT, this was done using the RED_SHIFT
: Recently it was found that the Red Shift isnt as reliable as they
: thought.
Then "they" didn't find the Universe was expanding.
:
: Also, this could still be explained in other ways.
Yes.
: What if 2 large black holes collided with each other ?
What's a black hole?
Oh wait, I know...a fantasy "they" say exists!
Stick to reality, son. You've a long way to go but
you are on the right track.
