Hi all,
i am a senior in high school and next year will be going to college. i
want to major in either physics and/or mathematics or electrical
engineering. i was wondering if i will be working in one of those
field will programing be helpful or not. do i need a basic knowledge
of programing or a deeper knowledge of programing.
thank you all,
Artem
I studied Electronics at University and was an electronics engineer for 20+
years. A basic knowledge of programming and computer systems is essential if
you are to progress into something like project management later on. Once or
twice in my career I wish I'd been able to write "experienced in C++" on my
CV as that would have given me a few more openings. Small companies can't
allways afford to hire an electronics engineer and a programmer - sometimes
you need to be able to do both. A lot depends on what you want to do after
college.
.
