Pete Points well taken I have answered post concerning God,but never
post it up. Bert

If you're curious about my beliefs then there is a way to have our cake
and eat it too. I'll let you in on a little secret (which I guess won't be
a secret anymore). I am in the process of creating a religion web site.
The site is at - http://www.geocities.com/physics_world/religion/

This is a living website in that it will never be completed. It is a way
for me to organize my thoughts on religion and in case others wanted to
know what those thoughts were then it'd be readily available. This is a
good example of the purpose of the web site too! :) Try starting with -
http://www.geocities.com/physics_world/religion/the_word_god.htm

then read this

http://www.geocities.com/physics_world/religion/why_i_am_a_christian.htm

Take them all with a grain of sand since they will always be considered a
work in process. I wrote those pages a long time ago, perhaps a year or
so. Since them I've come to a better understanding of my own beliefs and
am still learning more. To search within myself on what my beliefs are has
required me to go outside my current area of knowledge in physics and
expand to evolution. That's my first branch. I'm also going to dig into
geology and biology as well. Then there's archaeology, especially biblical
archaeology. Then there are other religions. I've spent some time studying
Islam (in which I found nothing which is consistent with what Islamic
terrorists claim that it says) and now I'm studying Judaism and religions
in general. The day I stop seeking will be the day I die. I search with
one basic axiom - What is the truth? And I do so regardless of what I
learn, even if it leads me away from my current beliefs. There's a whole
story to that too! :)

There is also an axiom that I will always remember and that's the one
mentioned in my first religion book back in college. Weinsberg states it
as follows "most people aren't entitled to be atheists because they
haven't thought enough about it." (That's from "A Universe with No
Designer," Steven Weinberg, pp. 169-174 in Cosmic Questions (Annals of
the New York Academy of Sciences, 950, 2001). ).

Please feel free to e-mail me with anycomments. If you do it on open
newsgroups then I can't respond and I'd rather not have you make comments
that I can't respond too. There will be a lot of bogus and ridiculous
comments that will be posted regarding my website. The fact that I state
that its a living document will not deter anyone. But there is a lot there
that I have changed my mind on and will change at my leasure. The ones
I've refered to above are consistent with my beliefs as they are today. Do
you have my e-mail address?

If you don't then go to http://www.geocities.com/physics_world/religion/ and
click on my name, i.e. click on the link "Pete" and you'll get my e-mail
address.

Pete
