Hi all,
I recently read in a book that december 22 is the shortest day in a
year, to what extent this is true..???
1) is there any scientific basis for this claim ?
Not much science needed really.
You count the number of daylight hours from daybreak til dawn
december 22, then 6 months later, you do the same exercise
and you will find that this one is the longuest day of the year.
You will find that this simply is physical reality. As for the
scientific basis, pick up any intro book on astronomy. It
is clearly explained.
