Jus a curious question abt human height....

Hi All,

While i was chatting with a friend of mine he told me that

"A person is taller when laying down, rather than when standing up"

I actually didnt agree to this point..But he gave me the following
explanation for that,

"Because we have many joints with fluids in it.when you are standing
up because of gravity all the bone tend to stack on each other and the
liquids give way to the bones piling down. The muscles around the bones
can strech and contract as required. When you are flat the bones
strech apart at joints and you grow taller. If you measure, then you
will notice it in millimeteres"

Still I really cant agree to the points & I felt like i need to post
this theory here....Is the explanation really vaild ??? Does the
height differ while we lay down than when we stand up ...???

Thanx.
.
