The theories of relativity are supported by massive amounts of evidence
and have never once been faslified by empirical means. Reasonableness
be damned!
The criteria for soundness of a scientific theory.
1. Empirical verification of predictions.
2. Absence of empirical evidence which falsifies the theory.
3. Internal or mathematical consistency.
And that is sufficient to establish whether a theory is sound or not.
Conformance to philosophical preferences or prejudice is totally irrelevent.
