| If you have two barrels containing 200 litres each, each with a
| footprint of 500mm2, stood on a platform 2meters (6 feet) from ground
| level, linked together at their outlets at the bottom by a T piece
| which is then attatched to a 15mm (half inch) hose, how much pressure
| would you have at ground level?
| Thanks in advance,
| Tim

We don't do homework questions. Suffice to say pressure is a function of
height.

| Wel thanks androcles, I found that information MOST useful.

You are welcome.

| But to extrapolate on your theory......
| If a man were to step on your hand at sea level............ would it
|  hurt less at 1000 feet above sea level?

It won't hurt at all if all I'm doing is giving him a leg up onto his horse
in his riding boots, but a woman in stiletto heels might be painful. I'd
be careful only to let the soles be in contact with my hand. For a
man either the sole or the heel would be ok, but avoid his spurs.

| I'd be interested in a prolonged study of this if you have the time?
| Oh, and by the way, I'm 34, little too late for homework

Ok, no harm in that. All too often we get youngsters expecting us
to think for them and that is to be discouraged, they must think
for themselves.- Hide quoted text -

Ah, I think I may have jumped in a little too early with my retort.
So any help would be appreciated, I dont know how to work it out.
If you could supply a formula for me to work from I'd be very happy.
I've been researching, but all I seem to have learned is that 34' of
water equates to 14.7Psi.
And I dont know how to extrapolate that to my situation!?
Thanks, Tim
