"Pros and cons of Europe's 'GPS'
Hey Potter there are two freely available Global Navigation
Satellite System (GNSS) currently deployed... Whether Europe
puts up a third one is a wait and see game... The Chinese will
probably beat them. Galileo's long term availability will
likely be no different than the other GNSSs!
Hey have you notices that relativistic corrections are required
in each of these GNSS offerings?
Sam makes a good point
when he points out that in the GPS system
corrections are made for:
1. Distance - Hubble effect.
2. Velocity - Doppler effect
3. Acceleration - Galileo effect
and not only that Sam,
corrections are made for temperature,
atmospheric conditions, the shape of the Earth,
oscillator drifts between the master oscillator
and the slave oscillators, and of course
to the tick accumulators ( So-called clocks) differences
caused by the frequency differences.

You might as well make use of the freely available Global Navigation
Satellite System (GNSS) signal while you're still alive Potter!
Thanks Sam.
I do use the GPS System,
and I am sure glad that George W. Bush
motivated other nations to add redundancy to
global navigation, so I don't have to worry
about catastrophic failure of the American system,
nor about some insane "Decider" or military leader
disrupting the services.
I don't know why you are glad... you receiver can't
make use of any "redundant" signals.
Of course, I am not too pleased with the
redundancy that George W. Bush
motivated other nations to add to
weapons and so-called defense.
Again I don't knw what you are glad about.
Wise leaders tear down walls,
and beat swords into plowshares.
Which leaders did that, Potter?
