I agree.

But I think those theories have limits, and do not hold true
Universally across infinity.

EVIDENCE: Hubble redshift.

Plain and simple.

Energy is lost in aged photons (old idea) AND (here's the new idea)
the aged photon's velocity decreases, eventually limps in just above
absolute zero, and goes dead.

That is a novel description of the CMB and because the time it takes
for light to complete its journey increases - just as it does under
expansion - its predictions for supernova light curve and surface
brightness should be equal to expansion.
