If not for the consequences being so terrible, I would smile over the
irony of blaming this financial meltdown on Bush.

And it's not even that the dems were fighting for anything more than
the huge lobbying checks that Fannie & Freddie sent their way. Fannie
had a lobbyist for each and every Congressman and Senator; one-to-
one. The dems were just being shills. Sigh.
