Light falling on a piece of glass can be partially refracted and partially

If by piece of glass you mean something that has two surfaces that the
light ray encounters (front face and back face), then the thickness of
the glass has as much effect as anything -- cf Newton's rings.

If the light is polarized, then there is an additional factor -- cf
Brewster's angle.

And you can also do a calculation of the transmission and reflection
coefficients if you know something about the complex permittivity of
the material.
