PD noted that Potter says that he could have built the GPS system
without using those GTR principles, simply by making an ad-hoc correction
to the GPS clocks.

However, based on Potter's posting record, Potter doesn't even understand
direct sequence spread spectrum modulation, let alone the mathematics
or engineering behind a correlation receiver as is used in GPS receivers.

Potter reminds me of Willy Loman (Death Of A Salesman)... no education,
blustering and frothing at the mouth with no substance of any value to
anybody.

As can be seen by his posting of the same old references written by a couple of guys on the public dole,
and by his attacking messengers, rather than addressing messages in a rational, intelligent, moral way,

and by his obvious ignorance of the GPS System, and his distortion of my posts as demonstrated in his statement::
"Potter says that he could have built the GPS system

As can be seen, Sammy is implying that the GPS "clocks" are corrected, when the fact of the matter is that the clocks are left pretty much alone, and GPS users are advised of each satellite's clock difference from the master system clock,

Potter is grossly confused here. GPS receivers are advised
of the number of leap seconds introduced since GPS came online.
But the clocks are offset (as determine by relativity) so
that from the perspective of the ground user, they are in
sync with ground based clocks.

UTC GPS TAI TT (TDT)

-----+----- DeltaT = 32.184 s + (TAI-UTC) - (UT1-UTC) ---+-----
UT1 (UT) 65.81631 s 34 s 0.36769 s TT (TDT)

UTC is variable with respect to UT1 and is kept within ±0.9s
with leap seconds.

There--I fixed this diagram so's Potter won't be so confused!

and as can be seen Sammy confuses "clocks" and "oscillators".

As I have pointed out, Galileo discovered centuries ago that acceleration affects the frequency of oscillators, and England sent ships all over the world with standard oscillators (Pendulums) and Newton used the data collected to compute the shape of the Earth and more importantly to England's Navy, tides all over the world.

Potter would do well to learn about the..

Hey, Potter, GTR has directly contributed to a $30B+ GPS industry,
benefiting people all over the world. Aviation, shipping, asset
management, survey, mining, agriculture, time dissemination,
communications networks... and on and on!

Bluster on, Potter, bluster some more! Froth at the mouth! Whatever!

Note that Newton did this using his primitive model of reality and hand calculations yet the General Relativity Cultists like Sammy cannot use General Relativity to compute ONE tide, nor compute anything of value to society.

Sammy seems to be ignorant of the fact that the offset that one General Relativity Guru attributes to General Relativity using 13 Classical Physics hacks, is a FREQUENCY offset, NOT a clock offset, and it can be attributed to the Galileo Effect discovered, or any cause one cares to speculate about,

and as the effect is constant, it can be offset with a constant, regardless whether or not the effect is caused by acceleration, or by the General Relativity equation or by psycho-kinesis by General Relativity Gurus and Cultists.

It is also interesting to see that although Sammy has avoided discussing the Information Theory and Communication Theory behind the GPS System, for years I have been trying to force discussions about Gold Codes, pseudo-random numbers, cross-correlations, auto-correlations, correlaters, good correlation properties, etc.
I might point out that I used a highly advanced time series computer back in the early 1960's to help auto companies find and reduce noise and vibration in drive trains and suspension systems, before the communications people began using correlators and fast Fourier transforms, and digital techniques.
