We aren't talking about some charge neutral gravity type field here.
The forces are electromagnetic, they are quantifiable, predictable,
and all in all their properties well known. So if we are talking
about an aether being involved, then it is an electromagnetic aether,
of the Maxwellian sort, the aether that the MMX was supposed to
detect.
The MMX was looking for the "aether wind".
They built there experiment and put it in the basement of a house with
a stone foundation.
This is the opposite of Aether Displacement.
The MMX experiment is similar to looking for the existence of air by
looking for wind so you raise a flag in the basement of a house with a
stone foundation and when the flag doesn't wave, you conclude air
doesn't exist.
Aether is displaced by the objects that exist in it.
So obviously, the MMX experiment was going to fail whether performed
in the basement of a house with a stone foundation or performed at the
top of a mountain.
The MMX experiment results are evidence of Aether Displacement.
However, this aether is, and has been proved to be,
redundant. Moreover no tests to date have managed to detect it.
FWIW, yes, I agree there is "something", but I have proposed the
solution many times here only to be heckled by every category of
reader posting here. To summarize that solution, the "something" is
the charges themselves, which are not tiny billiard balls as commonly
depicted, but instead they extend infinitely, and "are" the substance
of space. (Compare the quantum description, e.g. "electron clouds").
The particle that we see is just the centerpoint of the field, the
singularity.
What do you mean by the "charges themselves"?
Are the charges part of the C-60 molecule or part of the aether?
This is important because if they are part of the C-60 molecule, then
your theory has the same problem that QM does.
How is it that the 100% of the C-60 molecule always exists a single
slit when detected?
If the charges are part of the substance of space, then what is that
substance?
What name have you given the substance of space and how is your
description of a substance of space different than giving it the name
aether?
If you have a substance of space, what type of property does it
consist of that it would not be displaced by the objects that exist in
it?
How can your "substance of space" occupy the same point in three
dimension space simultaneously as the C-60 molecule?
I'm going to try and answer my own question.
For an analogy, you might see the particle as a hurricane where the
eye of the hurricane would be considered to be the "particle" but the
particle extends outward.
In other words, where does the hurricane end and non-hurricane air
begin.
I see an electron and the behaviors it might have in the Double Slit
Experiment to be more in line with the storm surge associated with a
hurricane.
The electron is the hurricane, but it is the storm surge that it is
creating in the aether that is going through both slits and causing
the interference. The electron "particle" (i.e. hurricane eye) goes
through a single slit while the storm surge goes through both.
That is why I prefer to discuss the Double Slit Experiment with the
C-60 molecule. I think eventually we are talking about a discrete
particle that can be described as existing in the aether and the
displacement wave it creates as it heads towards the slits in the
Double Slit Experiment to be separate from it.
This leads to the displacement of aether at the planetary scale which
allows for gravity (i.e. buoyancy in aether).- Hide quoted text -

That's an overly simplistic view. By what means does the aether
interact with the molecule?
