Hi,

I read in the net like wikipedia all about Hologram. The photographic
plate records the interference patterns from the object beam and
reference beam and when it is again illuminated with the reference
beam, the interference patterns act like diffracting grating where it
reconstruct the rays of the object. What I can't understand is how the
original angle
can be reproduced from the fringe interference patterns in
the photographic plate. Any everyday example where this occurs? Like
you shine a beam into the wall of the double
slit for example and you can get the original path of the object??
Please show illustrations or web sites with
clear illustrations in zoomed details how exactly the interference
patterns can become like diffracting grating
and how the original angle is reconstructed as there doesn't
any daily anology to this. Thanks!

Jimmy

Catch the colours on a CD or DVD.

Tilt the disk, the colours are still present but the angle has changed.
If you have a photograph on the same surface then you have
a hologram.
