I assume that my pal Sammy meant "hard"
rather than "had", and "what" rather than "where".

As I have posted,
I use Firefox with the "hypersearch"and ""add to tool bar"add-oms.

When I run across a good search engine,
I enter it onto the Firefox search,

and when I want to search for information,
I copy the search phrase to the search box,
and select the particular search engine that I think
will do the best job.

I have about 40 search engines that I use including:
http://www.archive.org for audio, video, old news reels, books, etc.
http://www.scribd.com for reading material
http://www.spock.com/api and http://en.wikipedia.org for people information
http://www.time.com/time/magazine for quick looks on "distortëd" 20th Century history
http://dictionary.reference.com/ for a quick word lookup
http://search.ebay.com/ to research products
http://www.reference.com for a quick overview of some subjects.
http://www.visuwords.com to find unknown connections
http://www.iseek.com to home in on a subject
etc.

and I use Amazon, Google and Wikipedia to home in on complex searches.
and I read the Amazon book reviews of books on some subject
and pick the minds of the reviewers, as they are knowledgeable
and one get to the heart of a subject much faster than using
Google or Wikipedia, which have a much higher noise level.

Unfortunately, at this time,
Google, who started out on the **right** path,
has taken a **left** turn in recent years,

has a monopoly on the only independent ""vox populi",
Usenet, and they are decreasingly abusing truth and free speech,

so it looks like Google is taking the same path that
the New York Times, Time Inc, the Hearst Papers,
and the Washington Post took in the 1900's,

and that is they are providing the public with the
best overall system, and using it to lure
folks into a trap where they can manipulated, conned,
instigated into conflicts and wars,
and having the assets and lives taken.

In other words, Google like the mass media
has turned into a rat trap, and have very good bait
to lure rats into the trap.

Google is ripe for the picking,
and if I were young and ambitious,
I would go after them.

The best strategy to knock off Google,
would be to offer a Usenet alternate,
and cater to the energetic, active people who use Usenet,
as they are the Internet opinion makers,

and when they switch search engine loyalty,
and begin to migrate to a new system,
the masses will follow, if the new service
provides a decent web search, as many already do,
they will also use the Web search.

The folks in Usenet discovered Google early,
became enthusiastic users,
and other folks followed them to Google.
