megatonnage tended to taper off drastically. Ergo, the amount of
damage done by a 25MT warhead wasn't eclipsed enough by the Czar Bomba
at 57MT to make it worth the cost and effort of lobbing the damn thing
in lieu of the smaller bomb. In addition, when detonated at the proper
height for inducing the proper precursor wave effects, smaller bombs
could be used that would produce far more damage, death, destruction
and devastation than a bigger airburst weapon.
