On the other hand, TsAGI was dead set against delta wings on aircraft
without horizontal tail surfaces...until the Tu-144 was built. Then
there is the quest for the Concorde tire rubber formula on the part of
Soviet intelligence.
As for the Buran, get real- not only is it a copy, it's aerodynamically
a very close copy... the earlier Soviet shuttle designs were far
different looking than the American Shuttle:
