There is if you're talking about the freedom of the slave-owners, rather
than that of the slaves. It appears to this outsider that the Southern
states thought that the North was trying to take their freedom away from
them. Freedom to determine their own customs and laws. I agree with what
Henry said. If the South had won, they would have written in the history
books that they had liberated themselves from Northern tyranny, the way I
see it.
