So, that is a single data point.

: So is my parent's income.

I take it that your parents are not retired. My parents are ans their
income is down from when Clinton was in office.

: My brother and his
: wife have had their incomes double since Bush entered office. My in-laws are
: doing great. When I couldn't find a job that paid enough to take care of my
: family, I started my own business. Pretty much the only people who are doing
: badly are the ones too lazy to work.

Much of the Information Technology industry has gone overseas. Many of
those people have restorted to going into the mortgage and refinace
industry. With interest rates going up and the wave of refinace having
past with the rates having bottomed out two years ago, that industry
has run its course WRT helping the economy as well as providing interim
jobs.

All we have is a housing value bubble that looks a lot like the Dot-com
stock market of 6-8 years ago.

: *stop* being US allies?

France? They hate us and we hate them. Don't you remember the "freedom
fries" name change? All the rest are neutral at best and many of the
people in those countries really don't like us. mostly due to Bush's
pompousness. "Either you are with us or you are against us." THAT leaves
people saying, "screw you", we are with neither of those choices.

: > Nice legacy.

: Yes, I'd say Bush has done alright for himself and the country.

You're blind. Watch W lose this fall. Bush votes + Nader votes < Kerry
votes.

: And look at the results. It takes years, if not decades, to get people in
: place to be of any use, and you think that Bush could have fixed that in a
: few months. What alternate reality do you live in?

The reality that much of the so-called plans division in the CIA is a
corrupt organization that is nothing more than a mercenary force going
out to the highest bidder. You are oblivious of the self-serving nature of
this administration and those around them.

: If you consider the truth to be bullshit, then you'd have a point. You're
: starting to sound like a Democrat.

And you are hopelessly a Republican.

: Here is the deal, when W gets the boot this fall
: > you will be proven wrong.

: Not at all. It would only mean the American public prefers style over
: substance. Bush is too busy working to be able to spend time snowboarding.

Bush can't even run the country much less campaign at the same time. Watch
him during the debates THIS time.

: I'll give the Democrats credit- Clinton was pretty good on the sax, and
: Kerry looks pretty good on the snow. The Democrats seem to be unhappy most
: of the time, but they do seem to be able to have more intense fun.

Right, whereas the Republicans aren't allowed to have fun, because they
are too busy kissing the ass of the Christian Right or the Saudi royal
family.

: And how does the *Democratic Party* do that? I thought that was the function
: of Congress.

The president creates the budget in which Congress votes on.

: Seperation of church and state, free speech, foster better

: So, under what authority does the Democratic Party do these things?

By being open to suggestion and not thinking that they have all the
answers, inherently. As dumb as W is, he thinks he's smart and cagey. He
forgets who we works for! And WE are going to let him know about it this
fall. You GOPers have hit the voting booths hard since 1994. But after
2000 election, watch the people come out and vote THIS time. Large voter
turn out = bad results for the GOP. You might even lose the Senate.

Sort of. But SOMEONE needed to do it!

: Sounds like the Democratic run world, where you screw the people who create
: jobs and give to people too lazy to work.

Sorry to hear that you are surrounded by lazy people. What's the matter,
not a good motivator?

: Once again, it's clear you missed the point entirely. When it appears to be
: convenient to the Democrats, they emphasize military service. When Clinton
: was running, it wasn't to their advantage, so they downplayed it.

But the Republicans have made more of an issue about Kerry's service than
Kerry has. It started with the medals over the White House lawn and now
has gone with this smear book from swift boat captains and such. The whole
project is smear from top to bottom.

: cite.

It isn't in the White House where it belongs. Ask Richard Perle, HE would
know.

: Ah, so, if the records get destroyed, history gets altered, right? If I were
: to take someone's service record and destroy it, they would suddenly vanish
: from photos taken at the time?

Yes, and all very covenient for W. Trying to put all the focus of military
service on Kerry only tries to shift the focus of W's lack of service.

: >W was AWOL!

: Prove it!

He didn't even show up for his own physical. THe only reocrd W has of
being in Alabama is a dental record.

: > Name one person other than W that had military records destroyed. Can you?

: As a matter of fact, I seem to recall a plane carrying servicemen *and their
: records* that crashed in, I believe, Nova Scotia, in the 80s. Identifying
: the bodies was a challenge precisely because their service records had been
: destroyed. This caused the military to change their habit of sending service
: jackets along with the people being transferred.

: More to the point, I've had difficulties in finding the records of certain
: Korean war veterans, because of a fire at a records storage facility.
: Storing records wasn't- and still isn't- a big priority.

Way to convenient for W.

: > : Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

: Carl Sagan would disagree.

Carl Sagan would support Kerry not W.

: I just tell the truth.

No, you confuse your opinion with reality. It is a characteristic of being
on the right. You are the type of scientist that when the data doesn't
match your hypothesis you alter the data. THAT is your standard of truth.

And what do you do as one that is self-employed? Just curious.
