Heck, it was *original* to stop the bomb with 8 seconds left, instead of
only 1. Reid was right, hardly worth getting worked up with that much time
left :)
This was parodied pretty good in "Galaxy Quest"- Tim Allen does what's
needed to stop the self-destruct sequence with, what, 24 seconds left, but
it doesn't actually stop until there's one second left (because it's more
dramatic that way), thus giving him an opportunity to leave a yellow stain
on the floor :)
