Skylab wound up being the main focus of whatever funding had been made
available for AAP, and IIRC what funding went to ASTP didn't come out
of the AAP budget. Nothing I've found in my research on the program
has pointed in that direction, and based on the bull*** ASTP funding
went through thanks to that wanker Proxmire and his cronies, I've come
to the conclusion that ASTP funding was a separate issue from
AAP/Skylab.

...But there were a few AAP projects that had some merit that should
have had a shot. The "I" missions using the LM-as-telescope variant,
and the two-man missions with an extended SIM bay and a really *big*
HYCON in the center seat for terramapping missions, come to mind right
off the bat. And the one involving an extended SM for a rendezvous
with Eros would have been sweet!

...Hmmm, now there's an idea. A complete list of AAP proposals and
projects. Wonder if Mark Wade's got them all gathered up :-)
