Yet, *you* claimed that a spit on the ground was a blow to

Then, be so equal as to acknowledge that, when the US and
USians can say all sorts of things ( " Free Speech " )
about the persons and practices of other nations that
that works BOTH WAYS...

Indeed: When is the *US* going to *cease* it's unilateral
heroin-like *dependance* on imported cheap gasoline ?
We Canadaians produce ours: Europeans are willing to pay
for theirs, and adjust their lives.
ONLY USians seem to feel an *entitlement* to fuel from
*elsewhere* that *must* be SO cheap, as to allow any and
all USians to drive veritable tanks ( Saw a huge stretch
Hummer last night; embarrassing, indeed. Just not to me )
to the Mall ?
Your analogy is apt: It's merely aimed 180 degrees
*incorrectly*...

Indeed: I dare say that a good part of The Rest Of The
World is a bit weary of USian demands for " More, More ! "
> As for those affected by the tsunami, I can only hope

While, again, not sparing the pats on their own backs,
as to how " giving " the US is.
Try this exercise: When the US does something that you
think is internationally laudable, *wait* to see if
that is , in fact, the view from Elsewhere, first...
Heck, when the three songs in support of Ethopia came out,
that was as clear then: The Brit and Canadian songs were
about the crisis, and the US one, was about " Lets fix
this ! We're the US ! We so rock ! "
A bit of occasional US humility would be... a refreshing
change.
But, like your maximum leader, you cannot concieve that
you could ever commit an error.
> All I lived through was a few hurricanes, and it wasn't

Indeed. I see in the news that, among other things, Canada
is expediting the reunion of relatives with status in Canada
with relatives in the affected areas, bringing such
foreign relatives to Canada, if that is their wish.
Good on that, as those are good things to do.
Theres debt relief, too. Not too bad for such a small
nation, one not as vocal about " we rock ! ".
Nor did our gov't start by announcing, as a great boon,
a donation, initially, of 1.5 million ( That would be
a proportional measure of the US's first announcement of
15 million: Canada has about a tenth the people of the US,
thus a tenth the loot. ), expecting a " wow, how generous ! "
response.
RL, if many in the Rest Of The World have... issues with
certain US gov't actions and statements, you might consider
that we may not be 100% wrong.
For those who might, fallaciously, to label me a US basher,
note that I said " CERTAIN US GOV'T actions... ".
