I only post this because I know they've actually been able to recover some
samples from Genesis. (;^>

But, anyway...which _is_ more impressive?

....Not deep in the classic crater sense, but spectacular; bright clay-red
ejecta accentuated by the surrounding evenly-textured, flat,
blueberry-covered terrain. And, who can miss that big-ass skid mark?
Certainly not the MGS camera. Btw, I may have missed it being reported: do
they think aero stress (aka several hundred mph on release) or impact
knocked that thing inside-out? At any rate, imho, far more interesting
than...

....Boasting some prominent ejecta of its own, though their impact (so to
speak) is lessened by it being only slightly darker than the surrounding
desert. Your classic round crater, like zillions on Luna, given a slightly
comedic appearance by the probe, appearing intact, protruding neatly out.

Imho, my personal nod goes to the MER heatshield impact for size and color
of feature, and the brilliant wild, stark, primal vastness of the
surrounding scene.

Now, if only certain people on this group would quit feeding the
moon-landings-were-fake trolls, knock off this crap about trying to image
Apollo landing sites, and concentrate instead of petitioning to have SMART
try for some high-res, close-up imaging of the Ranger, spent LM/AS and
S-IVB hits. Man, I'll bet the S-IVB impacts are sweet, especially if the
tanks still had something in them when they came in(?).
