Thats out past Oodnadatta - you're a crazy man to even consider that!
When I went in 2000 to catch the eclipse, Woomera, Wilpena, Adelaide etc, I
took 2 of the kids. I didn't even attempt to convince the dearly beloved.
In fact we were away for her birthday, and when we got back, the phones had
been cut off because I had missed paying a bill during the preparations.
Yeah, it was bad!
But we should try to give you some help here - ummm...
* Get some Heysen et al landscape paintings books
* The Flinders ranges are picturesque - and the historic towns along the
Broken Hill - Port Augusta line are very cute.
* The outback night skies are awesome
* You will find some great spots for some (ahem) outdoor activities
* Push the whole Aussie culture aspect
* Make sure the car has a A-1 airconditioner ;)
Good luck
