The Rules of Acquisition are from "Star Trek-Deep Space Nine." There
was a race called the Ferengi who were the ultimate "yankee traders,"
but with the cavet that they would lie, cheat and steal and consider it
"good business." One of the characters in DS9 was a Ferengi who ran a
bar/holographic pleasure center on the station. He was prone to quoting
the Rules at odd times. His nephew became the first Ferengi to make it
into the Academy, one imagines that, upon graduation, they put him in
the Quartermaster department.
