US Navy SLV: One small step for a dag

Says here this craft was to have landed a dog on the Moon by 1963.

Well, fan-damn-tastic. So, what was supposed to happen then? Was the dog
supposed to have gotten out and "marked" a rock? And how would they have
gotten it back into the doggie LM...broadcast the sound of His Master's
Voice through his comm cap?

"Nipper! C'mon, boy! Get back in! (whistle, whistle) Nipper, c'mon, we're
going for a ride (whistle)..."
