As a descendant on my mother's side of soldiers who fought with...and deserted from...George Washington's army during the Revolutionary War, I firmly agree.
You've got to draw the line somewhere.
Now, if they'd been decent and courageous Irishmen from my father's side of things, they would have fought to a successful conclusion around a year ahead of the time the war ended...sure, and don't you know! :-)
