My second favorite Heinlein, after Citizen of the Galaxy (and ahead of Starman Jones).
Those are certainly good ones, but my all-time faves are "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress," "Starship Troopers," "Friday" and "Number of the Beast." Those cover all the Heinlein bases there are to cover - a fierce belief in freedom and self-determination, responsibility of the individual to society and vice versa, sexy genetically-engineered Artificial Person courier/assassins, sentient machines (several, in fact), and a multiverse created out of the power of imagination (an idea recently borrowed by Stephen King in the conclusion of his Dark Tower series). Heady stuff and good reads, all.
That's the problem with trying to rate them -- I'd forgotten Moon, whose first-person voice always made it a fun read (ditto, The Glory Road). I enjoyed Starship Troopers as well, but always thought that it would have been a better novel if it'd been longer -- it always feels like he'd either cut out quite a bit, or had to publish it before he was finished.
