Smells of Natures

I read some comments from the Expedition 10 crew that mirrored similar
comments from other long duration astronauts/cosmonauts. Both Chiao and
Sharipov said that they were looking forward to the presence of nature again
after the sterile ISS environment, The smell of grass and flowers, etc..
I believe there have been attempts to grow food-type plants (wheat ??)
aboard Station but wouldn't it be possible to introduce flowers, a strip of
sod, some other botanical presence that could take up very little room, use
waste water and perhaps some processed compost aboard Station to provide
those smells of Nature returning crews talk about ??
