Being a former Social Worker, those who claim to hear voices in their
heads, be it from dogs, gods or other beings are given help and drugs
to make it better. If an all-powerful being existed, what a crappy
way to relate to 'its' creation, via a book written by many different
people that winds up contradicting most of its own claims. More like
a cosmic prankster than a benevolent all-powerful 'father' figure.

I always thought religion was a test given to us by advanced alien
races to see how long it would take us to figure out that religion(s)
is/are nothing more than myth. Once a species broke the shackles of
superstition, they are invited into the Galactic Federation of Planets
(or whatever the intelligent species form as a club.) Then peace and
enlightenment and travel throughout the universe begins for humanity.
