You can tell the Canadians from the natives because, in winter, the natives
are wearing fur and the Canadians are wearing thongs.

I just thought it was a joke I made up, until one day a Canadian snowbird,
who occasionally worked for my dad when visiting, showed up to work in a
thong on a day my dad was wearing a thick jacket.
