Hm, this made me think: Didn't the ALSEPs have RTGs in them? Couldn't they
have used those? Or did someone figure it was too risky tampering with
nuclear devices en route to the Moon? Or didn't they have an ALSEP on board?
IIRC, they brought an ALSEP on Apollo 12 - surely then, they would also be
on board Apollo 13?
