Ask these questions in the sci.astro.amateur newsgroup and you will
probably get more answers.
I looked at the current crop of small inexpensive telescopes ($ 200 or
less) and found most of them to be junk and not worth buying. Their
optics are very poor. The mechanical parts are also junk on many of
these telescopes.
I ended up going to E-bay and buying a small Japanese made 2.4"
refractor telescope made in the 1960's. It was $ 25.00 plus shipping
and was in the original box with all its accessories. Its optics and
mechanical parts are very well made. It's good enough for me for
occasional use looking at the moon, Jupiter and its moons or Saturn and
its rings. It also gives good terrestrial
views.
You might also want to consider getting an erecting eyepiece for
terrestrial viewing. If you don't have an erecting eyepiece, everything
will appear upside down when looking through the telescope. A clock
drive would also be nice to have, but adds more expense to the
telescope. Without clock drive, the moon moves out of view and you have
to keep moving the telescope.
I also have an 8" dobsonian reflector telescope that I bought about
15-years ago from Coulter Optical. It will give you better views of the
moon, but at higher powers, objects move out of view in the eyepiece
quite fast. Dobsonian telescopes are usually the best value and largest
aperture for the price. But they don't have a clock drives.
Either one is a good telescope for public use.
I can't help you with cameras or telephoto lenses.
